The history and the evolution of Mitochondria is testimony to Mitochondria’s interdependency on the ecosystem in which it operates. Mitochondria developed its energy solution – Project Phoenix, through a network of partners from across the world. In 2018 Mitochondria entered into a relationship with AVL Engineering for the development of its own Fuel Cell IP called Project Phoenix.

Gauteng Growth and Development Agency (GGDA), Vaal Special Economic Zone, Emfuleni Local Municipality

In 2021 the Gauteng Province through their Gauteng Growth and Development Agency (GGDA) partnered with Mitochondria in the Development of a Hydrogen Valley Innovation Hub to be located in a Special Economic Zone in the Southern part of the Gauteng Province popularly known as the Vaal Region. 700 hectares of land has been allocated for this development.
